We're back! Grand Lodge was this past weekend, and our lodge had a pretty good turnout. I myself rode down on my scooter...an act of insanity to be sure, but the ride back was definitely more pleasant than the ride down (less wind, warmer weather). In addition to your dais officers, we had J. Barnes, M. Starr, M. Toth, H. Graff and The P'MOTY himself, P. Scheeler. We were able to catch up, and some important legislation was passed. Most exciting for me is that we now have the ability to conduct business on any degree without the need for a dispensation. To me this is a positive sign and will get our Apprentices and Fellowcrafts more quickly integrated into the life of the lodge.
Congratulations to R.W. Johnathan Barnes on his installation as the Worshipful Master of the Illinois Lodge of Research. I look forward to a good year of Masonic fellowship and scholarship.
Our Jr. Warden Patrick Jones will be giving a full report of the goings on at Grand Lodge, and we will be conferring a second degree at our next meeting this Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Dinner at 6:30-ish, lodge opens at 7:30pm. I look forward to seeing you there!
