Paragraph 1. This Lodge shall be known by the name of Oriental Lodge No. 33, Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Illinois. It is a not-for-profit corporation.
Paragraph 2. The Stated Meetings shall be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
Paragraph 3. The first Stated Meeting in November shall be the Annual Meeting. The period covered by the Annual Report to this Lodge shall begin on November 1 and end on October 31 of each calendar year.
Paragraph 4. The Elected Officers of this Lodge shall be Worshipful Master, Senior Warden, Junior Warden, Treasurer and Secretary.
Paragraph 5. The Appointed Officers shall be a Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, Senior Steward, Junior Steward, Marshal, Chaplain, Tyler, Organist and Officer of Instruction.
Paragraph 6. The Worshipful Master, Senior Warden and Junior Warden are the Executive Officers of the Lodge.
Paragraph 7. The Elected Officers shall be separately chosen by ballot at the Annual Meeting of each year. A simple majority of the whole number of votes cast shall be necessary to a choice. The Appointed Officers named in Paragraph 5 shall be appointed by the incoming Worshipful Master.
Paragraph 8. The Officers thus elected and appointed shall be installed as soon after election or appointment as convenient, but within thirty-five (35) days. They shall serve until their successors are duly elected or appointed and installed.
Paragraph 9. The Secretary shall receive as a gift the sum of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per capita, per annum, paid monthly based upon the membership reported at the Annual Meeting.
Paragraph 10. The Treasurer shall receive as a gift the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per annum at the Annual Meeting.
Paragraph 11. The Tyler shall receive as a gift the sum of Twenty-Five Dollars ($25.00) per meeting attended by him, paid at those meetings.
Paragraph 12. The Officer of Instruction shall receive as a gift the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per annum at the Annual Meeting.
Paragraph 13. The Organist shall receive as a gift the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per meeting played at, payable at those meetings.
Paragraph 14. The nature of the gift to the retiring Worshipful Master shall be a Life Membership and a Past Master’s apron and pin.
Paragraph 15. The Treasurer shall have charge of all the stocks, bonds, funds and other fiscal property belonging to the Lodge and shall keep a regular and accurate account of all moneys received and paid out by him in a book to be provided by the Lodge for that purpose.
(A) He shall keep the funds and accounts of the Lodge entirely distinct and separate from all others and shall deposit the funds in a bank to be designated by the Lodge at the Annual Meeting; at the first Stated Meeting of each month he shall report the balance from the bank statement of the previous month and such balance shall be recorded in the minutes.
(B) He shall pay out no Lodge funds except for Masonic purposes on vouchers signed by the Worshipful Master attested by the Secretary and with the consent of the Lodge.
(C) All stocks, bonds or securities belonging to the Lodge shall be registered in the name of Oriental Lodge No. 33, A. F. and A. M. and shall not be sold or disposed of without the consent of the Lodge.
(D) He shall present a complete written report at the Annual Meeting of receipts and disbursements, together with an accounting of all monies, securities, bonds and other Lodge property in his possession. A copy of this written report shall be mailed to the Executive Officers of the Lodge not later than seven calendar days before the annual meeting.
Paragraph 16. The Secretary shall keep a true and correct record of the proceedings of the Lodge proper to be written; he shall preserve in appropriate files all papers and documents relating thereto; shall keep separate accounts with each member of the Lodge; shall conduct the Lodge correspondence under the direction of the Worshipful Master; shall issue all summonses and notices when directed by the Worshipful Master; shall make the necessary returns when required to the Grand Lodge; shall receive all monies paid into the Lodge; record the items and amounts and pay them over to the Treasurer without delay, taking his receipt therefor; shall keep a complete register of the members, showing dates of initiation, passing and raising or affiliation, also dimission, death, expulsion or suspension; shall notify all committees of the matters referred to them and all petitioners of their election or rejection; shall have custody of the Lodge seal and affix the same to all documents requiring verification and shall make a written report of his doings at each Annual Meeting.
Paragraph 17. Checks drawn on the checking account and withdrawal orders on the savings account of the Lodge shall be valid only when signed by any two of Worshipful Master, Treasurer and Secretary with the consent of the Lodge.
Paragraph 18. The Treasurer and Secretary, before being installed into office, shall furnish a surety bond in the minimum amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00), respectively, by a reputable surety company approved by the Executive Officers and the Lodge at the annual meeting, the premium of the bonds to be borne by the Lodge or otherwise provide evidence of insurance.
Paragraph 19. Every member must notify the Secretary promptly of any change in his mailing address.
Paragraph 20. The fee for the Degrees shall be Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00), divided as follows:

These fees are payable before each degree is conferred.
Paragraph 21. The Annual Dues of Sixty-Five Dollars ($65.00) plus the Grand Lodge per capita dues are payable on the first day of each calendar year. The amount of one year’s dues shall be paid from the date of raising or admission to membership.
Paragraph 22. Any member whose dues for the current year are not paid at the first Stated Meeting in December of that year, shall be notified in writing to pay the same on or before the first Stated Meeting in February following, which shall be considered the first notice.
Paragraph 23. Any member who neglects or refuses to make answer to the first notice and whose dues are not paid or remitted to the first Stated Meeting in February, shall be notified in writing to appear at the first Stated Meeting in March following and show cause why he should not be suspended for non-payment of dues, which shall be considered second and final notice.
Paragraph 24. The fees for Affiliation and Plural Membership shall be one-fourth the total for the Degrees. The fee is payable upon submission of the petition for Affiliation or Plural Membership. |
