On behalf of all our officers and members, we extend greetings to those seeking Masonic fellowship at Oriental Lodge No. 33, Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Illinois. Established October 9, 1845, we are the oldest Masonic lodge in Chicago, which was founded just eight years earlier in 1837. Several founders of "The Windy City" including prominent civic and business leaders were among our lodge's charter members.
Oriental's unique heritage includes rising from the ashes of the Great Fire of 1871 while assisting many other lodges to rebuild. One of our most noted honorary members is Bro. (and King) David Kalakaua, the last reigning monarch of Hawaii and Master of Loge le Progres de l'Oceanie, who visited Oriental in 1875 during his U.S. goodwill tour to observe the splendor of our Third Degree as it was then performed. In the spirit of our lodge motto we work in harmony "one for all and all for one" to make our homes, communities, and the world at large places where Brotherly Love prevails.
Please take a moment to download our brochure to learn more about what makes Oriental Lodge so unique. If you have any questions, please contact our Secretary. We look forward to your joining us!
Fraternally,
